New York Public Library Lion “Fortitude”, nicknamed by Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia during the Depression. “Fortitude” is composed of 460 million year old Ordovician Tennessee marble (a limestone that resembles marble when it’s polished).

We’re thrilled to announce that Geologic City is featured this week on Urban Omnibus.  Urban Omnibus is “an online project of the Architectural League to create a new kind of conversation about design and New York City… Urban Omnibus makes vivid the processes and possibilities shaping New York.”
